![]() WP 2.1. Soil tillage management The effects
of soil tillage management on crop performances (including winter
wheat) are assessed in three long-term field experiments representing
various soil types and climatic conditions in France and Switzerland.
On each site, the same types of treatments are compared with a
mouldboard ploughing (MP) at a depth of about 20-25cm and a reduced
tillage (5 to 15cm depth and no soil inversion - RT). A 5-year crop
rotation survey set up in 2004 on 12 farm fields in SE and W France
helps to compare conventional tillage with reduced tillage and to
assess the variability of the observations on a larger number of sites
and conditions. In the present project, 2 to 5 organic wheat fields are
being followed each year. Field trials involved in the WP: - Field trial of Thil (France) - Farmer fields in SE France - Field trial of Combree (France) - Farmer fields in W France - Frick trial (Switzerland) Responsible partner:Assistant professor Joséphine Peigné |
